Congregational Meeting This Sunday
Dear Hope Church Family,
This morning I am eagerly anticipating the pivotal Congregational Meeting on Sunday morning with joy and a deepening sense of opportunity. The Making Room for More campaign has now progressed to a decision point that requires our collective agreement upon the crucial next steps forward, and on Sunday morning we will vote upon the pathway that lies ahead. Through your gracious, generous giving, we have the capacity to break ground on the expansion of our campus and the renovation of our current space that will not only accommodate our sustained growth but also position us to cultivate even more Kingdom ministry through Hope Church.
The overall project price is $9.4 million. With close to $6 million in gifts and commitments in hand, the Elders and leadership at Hope unanimously and enthusiastically recommend that we proceed with the start of construction by opening a line of credit to cover the remaining funds needed to complete the construction process as well as cover the remaining commitments while they are fulfilled over the next two years. The Elders’ recommendation for this financing strategy requires congregational approval and that is the purpose of the vote on Sunday morning.
Over the past three weeks since the Town Hall announcement of this proposed pathway forward, we have enjoyed many conversations, phone calls, and visits with Life Groups and smaller group gatherings to hear your concerns, questions, and responses to the campaign in general and this recommendation in particular. I thank you for your sincere interest in, eagerness to understand, enthusiasm for, and support of the Making Room for More campaign. Those conversations and your obvious investment in what God is doing in and through our church have been overwhelmingly encouraging and formative for me and the Elders.
In preparation for the Congregational Meeting, please join me in praying for God’s clear leading and his gracious blessing. I long for us as a church to become more “aware of what God is already doing so that we can respond to it and participate and take delight in it.”
If you have any questions or concerns in advance of Sunday’s meeting, please reach out to me via email, text, or phone. I will gladly do my best to help.
Peace of Christ,
David
