Weather Preparedness

Hopechurchws   -

Dear Hope Family,

As you’ve likely heard, we are expecting a significant storm in the coming days. We want to share a few important updates and also let you know how we’re caring for one another during this time.

Schedule Updates

  • Sunday Worship and Youth Group are canceled this week, out of an abundance of caution. We encourage everyone to prioritize safety and avoid travel if conditions are poor. We would love for you to be able to gather in your homes with nearby friends and neighbors to share this liturgy together.
  • Discovering Hope and PJ Popcorn Party are still taking place tonight as scheduled.
  • Mahjong will meet from 1:00–4:00pm (adjusted time). Registrants should have received an email requesting an updated RSVP.

Even as we pause our Sunday gathering, we want to say two simple things: you are not alone, and we want to care well for one another and our neighbors.

If you need help, please let us know. This could include things like:

  • A warm place to stay if you lose heat
  • Transportation once the storm begins or afterward
  • Pantry goods or essential supplies
  • Help shoveling sidewalks or clearing driveways

At the same time, if you have resources or availability to help others, we would love to hear from you. This might include:

  • Extra space with reliable heat in a power outage
  • An AWD vehicle and ability to help with transportation
  • Pantry items or other essentials
  • Willingness to shovel, check on neighbors, or assist as needs arise

You can reply directly to this email or contact our Diaconate or a pastor and we will do our best to connect needs with help.

As always, part of our calling is to care for our wider community as well. The Dwelling is serving as an overflow shelter. You can donate financially directly to them to help cover the cost of food (they spent $2200 on a soup only lunch and dinner already) or you can reach out to Sarah or Ethan to hear about the other supply donations they need.

Please continue to pray for safety, wisdom, and peace as we prepare. We are grateful to be a church family that reflects the love of Christ in moments like these — caring for one another and making room for those in need.

With hope and care,
Hope Church Staff
