Hope Explored

Dear Hope Family and Friends,

This Sunday we will begin a new Sunday School course on evangelism that I’m excited to lead for the next three weeks.

Have you ever thought or said something like this: “I want to share my faith, but I just don’t really know how”? If so, you’re not alone. Talking about Jesus can be both difficult and intimidating.

Evangelism is an area in which I’ve been called to equip our church, and one tool that has proven useful is called Hope Explored (not to be confused with our membership course, Discovering Hope). It is a three-week, video-based series based on the Gospel of Luke that helps people outside the church understand the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus in a very easy-to-grasp way. (Watch the trailer here.)

For the next three Sundays, I’ll take us through the Hope Explored course so that you, as a member or regular attender of Hope Church, might learn what it’s all about and can be confident to invite non-churched friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors to future course offerings. We’ll walk through it just like participants, and I’m guessing that no matter how long we’ve been following Jesus, we’ll all learn something new about him and the hope we have in him!

(For those wondering, Delane Clark will continue teaching his Bible class simultaneously with this one, so you will have a choice.)

See you Sunday!
